    1. [VALEE-L] KING family - Trading Creek, Lee Co., VA
    2. K. O'Brien
    3. I am trying to find what became of the sons of Anthony KING (d. c1886)and Mary Jane BUCKHART (d. 1908, Netawaka, KS), who lived at Trading Creek in Lee County. Their sons were: Eli KING - m. Margaret MOLES. Reportedly had a daughter Ollie(?). Richard "Rich" KING - m. (1) Mary Wadell(?) -- children were George, Burgine(?), John, Verda (m. GIBSON), and ? (m. STAFFORD); m. (2) Ellen WYRICK -- children were Mary (m. MORELOCK), Lizzie (m. PACE), Laura (m. GIBBONS). When my late grandmother, Mary J. (SHUPE) O'BRIEN visited Virginia in 1956 he had her picture taken with an Earl and Bell KING and also has a picture in her scrapbook of a Joanne KING. I assume these KINGS are descendants of Eli or Rich. Mary's mother was their sister, Almedia (KING) SHUPE; their other siblings were Kate A. (KING) THOMPSON, Sarah Jane "Sallie" (KING) QUINLEY SHUPE, and Anthony KING Jr. Any help on this KING family would be appreciated. Thank you. _______________________________________________________ http://inbox.excite.com

    3. I will be making a trip to Lee County next week. I want to locate the graves of Austin and Eliza CLIFTON, both of which are in the Spangler Cemetery, outside Jonesville. The graves are unmarked to my knowledge. The graves are at locations F-6 and J-11 according to information we have received. The question is; is there a grid map at the cemetery showing where these two graves are located? If anyone has one and could send me the cemetery layout or verbally guide me to the correct locations it would be greatly appreciated. Dean Clifton e-mail; Dean@cinci.rr.com

    1. Re: [VALEE-L] Lee Co. Death Records
    2. Margaret, I don't have access to Ada's book but there was a very big error concerning the death of my Grgrgrandpa JOHN M VANHUSS. It wasn't intentional, but, still an error on whoever wrote the records down to begin with. It was found by my OWENS cousins. For years we thought John's wife was REBECCA COLE. Whoever wrote the record skipped a line and threw our info off. It was stated the informant was A J COLE >>>>John's father in law....Not so, REBECCA was really REBECCA JANE MINTON VANHUSS and later either became wife of or had a child by DAVID WOLFE. His name was WRIGHT STICKLEY WOLFE. I have his record for SS and that is the info he put on it. After John's death in 1865, and the census of 1870 REBECCA and her children my grgrandma NANCY ELIZABETH VANHUSS(OWENS) and MARY MINERVA VANHUSS(LAMBERT) lived next door to the old DAVID WOLFE. I believe his wife ALPHENIA<<< spelling I think that was her name, don't have info in front of me...if not I apologize)may have died and Rebecca took up with David. Wright Stickley Wolfe was born in 1880. He and his mother left for I believe to be Missouri and then on to Texas, where Wright lived with MARION FRANCES and LUCINDA JANE VANHUSS WOLFE as a young child. I believe that maybe Rebecca may have died on the way to Texas. I have not been able to prove where she died yet. I know someone with lots of info her husband gathered up on VANHUSS~MINTON and LAMBERT...I just can't get it from her. She even has a picture of John M VanHuss...
