Hi everyone, This is just a quick message to let you know that effective today, I am the new list administrator. I'll let you all know my guidelines in the next day or two. In the meantime, if you have any questions, you're welcome to contact me at <ladyaudris@earthlink.net>. Colleen Pustola
Dear list administrator is there any way that you could have this change made in the way we get the answers to quires on the list. There is a lot of good info out there and when someone post the reply just goes to them. That could have been others on the list ggggrandfather they have hit a brick wall on. I for one would like the answers on the list as several others have voiced this opinion also. Thank You. Shirley Sutton Bragg
When was Blue Spring Church founded and what demonination was it? Thanks. Eleanor
Norma: The only way the message would bounce back is if it was not a valid email address. It landed in the mailbox for that address and may or may not ever get read. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Norma Adams" <njadams@siscom.net> To: <VALEE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, May 15, 2002 6:30 AM Subject: Re: [VALEE-L] VALEE is already adopted (not avail) > Hi, > I also got the same message as everyone else, that the list had been > adopted. Hi, I also got the same message as everyone else, that the list had been adopted. I wrote the admin. at VALEE-admin@rootsweb.com. No response from anyone. It did not get bounced back so it must have landed somewhere! Sure would be nice if they identified themselves. Dear VA-Lee List Administrator: I echo what Wayne has posted. Please introduce yourself. . .or if you have inadvertently "adopted" the List and no longer wish to be the Administrator, please go through the proper Rootsweb procedure to remove yourself as Administrator. There are others who have volunteered to become Administrator. Margaret PS to Wayne & Milly: Did you try sending a message to the administrator at the VALEE-admin@rootsweb.com address. I'm curious if the message bounced back.
Hello list admin, The majority of the members of the VALEE-L and VALEE-D email lists would like to "meet" the list administrator. We would also like the default condition for the "reply to" line in emails to be set to "reply to list <valee-l@rootsweb.com>. Many of us feel we are missing information about relatives and the history of the area when the responses go directly to the person posting. Thanks for your consideration of the request. We'd love to get to know you! Hope to hear from you soon. You can also contact me at either memorymaker@hillsandhollers.net or at navyump@pinn.net Sincerely, Wayne Duncan A proud former Lee County resident

Hello All: Here is the response I got from Rootsweb concerning my request to adopt the VALEE email list. "The VALEE list has been adopted. The list admin needs to remove the "adoptable" taglines so they don't keep appearing on list mail. The admin can be reached at: VALEE-admin@rootsweb.com" I am trying to contact the admin now so we can get the changes made to the "reply to" that everyone seems to want. If we all send requests, maybe we'll find out who the admin is! Thought you might want to know. Sincerely, Wayne Duncan
I have once again volunteered to become the list admin. I sent a notice to both the signup page and the technical help page. I will hopefully receive a response within 36-48 hrs. (according to the automated response I got!) Sincerely, Wayne Duncan
I subscribe to the list through the digest mode. I like being able to see all of the posts in one email. So, when I reply to one query in the list it automatically posts to the whole list at VALEE-L@rootsweb.com. Until someone can fix it otherwise, you might want to try that. To the list This is bizarre. People want to be the list administrator, people have volunteered and nobody has a clue. At the bottom of every message I get from this list, and all the others I'm on are the instructions. Go to: http://resources.rootsweb.com/adopt/listrequest.html. I'm sure you can leave the "http" out and get there. That page automatically rolls over to another one that has a short questionnaire to be billed out and submitted. Good luck to somebody. I share the frustrations about reading messages that mean absolutely nothing. Jim

Hi ladies, I am not the administrator for this list but I do run 4 other Rootsweb lists. I do not ever recall us having a "tool" where we can make a reply from someone's personal e-mail program go to the list. And sometimes there are posts where people want a personal reply rather than one to the list anyway. Hi Wayne, I have also attemped to apply as administrator..with no answer. Hello All: I have volunteered many times to be the Lee County VA list administrator. I have never gotten a response from Rootsweb. I'm not sure why...... I am a former county resident, have four email lists here on Rootsweb (swva-netn-seky-chat, bible-records, state-historical-markers, and migration-patterns)and am the webmaster for www.hillsandhollers.net The website <A HREF="www.hillsandhollers.net">www.hillsandhollers.net</A> is dedicated to SWVA (primarily Lee, Scott, and Wise counties, with a smattering of other counties). Check it out, I rely on the sharing of information to continue adding new material. If anyone knows how to get Rootsweb to "assign" me this list, I'll be happy to administer it! Sincerely, Wayne Duncan
How bizarre that at least two of you have volunteered to be List Administrator. . .and nothing has come of it. Keep us informed! In the meantime, if everyone will remember to click "reply all" so that everyone can benefit from the responses, that will be great. Should someone choose to reply privately to a post, that's always an option. . .but let's make our "default" be to reply to the List. Looking forward to receiving lots of great new posts. ..and responses! Margaret
I would like very much to see the replies to the inquires on the Valee list Is there a way that you might be able to send them back to the list? I would appreciate it very much and I am sure there are others like myself. As we share the info with other who might find a clue of a long lost relative and knock down the brick walls, that we face. I know its up to you hope you don't feel that I am trying to infer with you list in any way. Shirley Sutton Bragg

I don't know if you have the same option with Netscape or not.
