    3. Hi Marsil. I have a lot of Wells genealogy that was sent to me many years ago, since aaaaai am a Wells descendant. The posting that I made was an effort to find the parents of Mary "Polly" Shephard, who married William S. "Big Bill" Wells, son of William and Susan Ward Wells. Mary's mother was listed on the e=mil as Nancy Shepard. The information I have did not list an Elizabeth Wells as a Daughter of William and Susan Ward Wells. Quotes: "William "Big Bill" Wells married Polly (Mary) Shepard 3 Oct. 1853 in Lee Co., Va.. Quote: "Nancy Creech, age 50 yrs., Wid., daughter of William and S. (Susan? Wells married in Lee Co. 22 Mar. 1856, the widower, William Brewster." ( The Wells and Shepard lines intermarried so much it is very confusing. Edgar, Oak Ridge, Tn. --- Edgar A. 3. There was a Willoughby ROGERS born in 1756, probably in Virginia, and migrated to NC before the Revolution. His pension record states he enlisted in Edgecombe Co NC. He married Mary Vincent in 1782, daughter of Benjamin Vincent of NC. Their issue as published were: Vincent; Jesse; Ziolpha, Sally and Shadrack. Willoughby died in 1828 in Blount Co TN and is buried there at Ellejoy Cemetery. Does this help you with your Rogers family? Marian

    3. Hi, This may be far fetched but I show an Elizabeth Wells as daughter of Wm. Wells and Susan Ward. Elizabeth was formerly married to a Shepherd. When she married Mortimer Creech it was as Elizabeth Shepperd. She brought several children to this marriage-Sampson and Susan Shepperd and possibly a William. Is it possible she could have been Mary Elizabeth Wells Shepperd? 3. This is a very long shot but the Rogers name has been mentioned several times on this list and I have a Rogers problem. I am looking for a Rogers who may have lived in Virginia or North Carolina who married a woman named Susannah. She was born around 1760 and had children in the 1780's and 90's. She shows up in Estill Co KY in 1810 living as head of household after being in Clark Co. Researchers have been looking for her husband and parents for at least 40 years. Phyllis

    3. If she came thru SW VA first, I might be able to help you. VA and NC by themselves are too broad for what I am working on. There are many Rogers families in VA that I know of. NC unless it was part of E TN originally is not in my line of researching either. However, there was a Walling Rogers from Scott/Hawkins that was in Estill for a time, but I don't think that he fits the pattern you are describing. I can send you more data on Walling if you want it. Any help on identifying Mary's parents would be greatly appreciated.

    2. Eleanor, Wallen, Wallin, Walling, etc. are most in all probability the same family(s) with the spellings changing over the years for various reasons. My Wallens came form N.C. to VA, into KY....they traveld a lot and Elisha "The Longhunter" Wallen (b:1732) was one of my ancestors. I have nothing on the Rogers surname. The James Robert I listed is cira 1772-1858 Cheryl

I don't recognize your James Roberts. What time period and area was he in? 2. Hello: Is there anyone else on this list that are researching the Peter H. ROWLAND family? No one seem to know any of his siblings names or who his parents were. I think that an aunt once told my brother that they were from England and that they first were in PA, then Lee County, VA , and then the family ended up in Claiborne County, TN. Would love to hear from another researcher that might be able to enlighten me. Thank you so much! Sandie
