Because of your obvious interest in history & genealogy, I thought you might be interested in learning about a new resource. "Pathfinders, Pioneers, & Patriots", is a Historical CD that shadows the early explorers to "the New World" then follows the progression of the frontier across Virginia to 1800. >From 1760 to 1800, it primarily focuses on the largely untold history of S.W. Virginia, E. Kentucky, and N. E. Tennessee (including many, many Sur-Names) Additional info. can be found on my website at: http://www.mounet.com/~echo/ppp.htm It was completed in a MS- Word '97 Format which allows the user to literally "point and click" their way through history. It also contains a MS-Word Viewer for those without a compatible word processor. (It will run on virtually any computer.) It contains a historical timeline of over 30 pages with hyper-links to over 100 pages of the stories about the people and events listed (along with many original color pictures, lists of participants in various historical events, and other primary documents). Those interested in history or genealogy are responding very well to the C.D. It sells for $28.00 (including tax and shipping) and can be obtained by sending a personal check or money order to me at: Danny Dixon Echoes From the Past Rt. 2 Box 872 Nickelsville, Va. 24271 (540)479-2325 ** Also on the above site, you will find a FREE Historical Timeline of some of the major events in our region from 1500 to 1800. Check it out ! You might find some of your Ancestors listed. "The more we learn about our remarkable ancestors, the more we can appreciate our heritage." Danny Dixon Echoes From the Past

Hello: Is there anyone on the list that is working on HAZELWOOD? My GGrandmother was Mariam Hazelwood b. abt 1847 probably in Lee County, VA, and she was the daughter of Peter and Lucy Hazelwood. They were in the 1830 Lee County Census and in the 1850 and 1860 Claiborne County, TN Census. I can't seem to find anything on any of them. Mariam 1st married John McNeil, then she later married my GGrandfather Leander Lingar. She died either at my Grandmother's birth or soon after. I am unable to find her grave or anything about her. If anyone has any info on this family, I would love to hear from you! I am totally lost on this line. Thank you so much! Sandie Gibson

It appears that the Andersons and the Livesays married into each others families several times. George L. Livesay married Nancy Millie Anderson about 1781. George died in Hawkins county ,TN and Nancy died in Hancock county, TN. This information was obtained from the Livesay Historical Society. My gg grandfather Allen Chandler also married Lucinda "Mary" Anderson 10/2/1856 in Lee County Virginia. She was the daughter of Noah Anderson and Celia Robinson. Lucinda was born 1834 and died 1890 in Lee county Virginia. My g grandmother Nela F. Chandler married Peter H. Livesay 12/30/1886 in Lee County Virginia. They both are buried in Hickory Valley Cemetery in Loudon county Tennessee. We don't know anything about Lucinda "Mary" Anderson or her spouse Allen Chandler.
Hi Carter. In the 1830 Lee Co., Va. census I found William Spencer, b. ca. 1760-1770 and wife (unnamed), b. ca. 1870-1880. No other record was found for Amanda Ellen Brooks Spencer. Ed --- Edgar A. To all who asked about Morgan ANDERSON. I have that he md. Jane LIVESAY. I believe him to be a brother of my Peter ANDERSON. Peter and Martha were in his household in 1880 census, Peter as an invalid and Martha as a midwife. I believe Peter was a Jr. as there is another older Peter on some records. I have been told the ANDERSONs lived in Orange co. NC for a time and that they entered this country at New Castle Delaware in 1636 on the ship Fogel Grip from a Scandinavian country and that our ancestor was captain of this ship .I can provide a list of the children of Morgan ANDERSON if they are needed. My interest is in the son of Peter and Martha , John M (Morgan?) who left Va. ca. 1879 and settled in Laclede co. Mo where he md. Harriet Rebecca JAMES.(these two are my grandparents) He took several children with him to Mo. and I don;t know what happened to His wife, but she was not with him in Mo. She was Susan RAINES.
