Hei Don, I looked in "Norskgardnave" by Oluf Rygh for a name "close" to Firsdon, but didn't come up with anything that might be right. Norwegians often changed their names and spellings, do "Firsdon" can't be relied on as being accurate. You have a year they emigrated. Why don't you contact The Norwegian Emigration Center at Stavanger, Norway. It could save you years and years of searching. My husband's dad came from Hadeland, and left by way of Stavanger. We found his home parish, his age, his parents, destination, ship name, and even money he had in his pocket. Their web sie is http://www.emigrationcenter.com They have an email address at: detnu@online.no Lykke til (good luck) and Happy Thanksgiving!
