I especially liked the Rosemaling - I am a want to be artist (I have been trying my hand at oil painting for the last two years and really am enjoying it). My latest project although not yet finished is a cabinet and I am doing roses on the doors. I sure hope it turns out even half as good as the ones you show. I have a friend who convinced me to try, I never thought myself capable of painting but must say I am pleased with how well my paintings have turned out. Anyway it has given my a new apprieciation for art work of any kind. Second I am intrested in Nesbyen. My Fathers oldest sister Ragna Knutsdtr (Bakke) married an Emil Kristiansen Nesbyen. Emil was born 27 Apr 1891 the son of Kristian Evensen Norbeie born in 1849 and mother Martea Toersdtr born 1853. Emil and Ragna married on 18 Jun 1916 in Fagernas. Emil was born in Fluberg, Sondre Land. Emil and Ragna had 7 children of which I have a photo taken when Emil and Ragna were quite elderly. 1)Kolbjorn b 19 Dec 1916 in Fagernas, ( the rest I have not found records of so do not have any dates but would sure love to find them) 2)Knut, 3)Matea, 4)Kjellaug, 5) Borghild, 6) Einar, and 7)Agnes. I am not sure if this is the right order or not. I would love to find them or their decendants and correspond. Anyway when I seen the place Mesbyen it really intrested me. Thanks for a great effort on your part to put such a web page together to help people like me. There may be no connection to my cousins and the place you are from but it was still intresting. Ruby
