Hello! I'm the genealogist for the Valdres Samband Lag in America. I would like to help! There seems to be two messages below from different people. Both the Skalet and Haugshovd farms are in East Slidre in Valdres. Valdres is spread over mountains, high hills, valleys and water. It's a beautiful area, but difficult to raise crops. This is one of the reasons our people left for America. There is an old saying, "You can't eat scenery." If you both would give me some details - like as full as possible Norwegian names, including the name of the farm, plus at least birth years, I will see what I can find.
