Hi, My name is Pia,and i signed in on this list a couple of day's ago.I am dutch but live in Lier. I have startet recently with genealogy and was so happy to could start with Valdres, already startet by somebody else, who does unfortunetly not live anymore. I have now more and more questions and hope somebody on this list might have same ancestors or the possibility to look up some things in bygdebooks. I have østre slidre books. The person I am searching for are the grandparents from Ole Knudsen Beito (Kveto) 1843-1930. Father side. Knut Gullichsen Beito/Bekkenlund 1815-1846 drowned, married with Berit Knutsdatter Helle, born 1803. The parents from Knut Gullichsen Beito are listet as Gullich Olsen Egge (1750-1826), and Kari Olsdatter. In the 1801 it said that Gullich Olsen Egge is married with Kari Halvordatter Berji, both 51 and first marriage. There lives a Kari Olsdatter inderst on that farm with a daughter. Is that maybe "my" Kari? I would expect Gullich Olsen is coming from Egge which I find on a old slidre map, in vestre slidre, but somebody who looked it up said he was not mentioned there. Gullich must have been 65 when Knut was born, but I guess that is possible. Gullichs parents are mentioned: Ola Gullichson Beito, married Ragnhild Jonsdatter Stee. Somebody who looked it up said there was no Ragnhild at Stee. But they are listet married in 1749, and she was burried 1776 (born 1715) On the mothers side, Berit Knutsdatter Helle (where is Helle?)parents Knud Trondsen Berge married Berit Olsdatter. I found this family in 1801 at Berge farm Wang prestegjeld. It say Knud Tronsen "Deres barn". I thought this means that his parent are listet too, but I can not find them. His wife and youngest daughter er listet. Does anybody have the Berge farm in a bygdebok? On the same 1801 list stand Ole Madsen tjenestfolk 25. Is this Ole Madsen Berge who married with Barbro Andersdatter in 1803, on Kvåle (Qval) farm. Does it mention his parents, or where he come from?
