Just wanted to thank Owen Anderson for that piece he sent on the Bear Creek Church to the group. I have at least 2 g-grandaunts buried in the Bear Creek cemetery. The youngest daughter of Knud S. Olsen (who was born on Nordre Solberg Gaard, Sor Aurdal Prestegjeld. Kristians Amt, Norway and later known as Knud O. Dicken). Her name was Elise Olsen Dalen. wife of Allen G. Dalen, and she was born 2 weeks in 1853 after my gg-grandparents with 4 of their children arrived in Rock Co, WI. They moved to Fillmore Co in 1856, shortly after their other 4 children arrived in 1855 from Norway. The other g-grandaunt has been mistakenly identified as her husband A.E. Orvig (Andrew E. Orwick US name) The headstone must read "Hustru of..." or something like that. The birthdate on the headstone is that of Karen (Caroline as she was known in the US) Olson. She was born on 10 March 1843 in Lille Aadnaes Eje, Sondre Land, Kristians Amt, Norway, her husband was born in October 1836 in Norway according to the 1900 census for Numedal Twp, Pennington Co (Polk Co at that time). Andrew had a homestead in Fillmore Co. also. Many of the Olson young people moved to Mower Co. and were there for the 1875 census. Karen died on 29 May 1879 in Racine Twp, Mower Co, MN. I would be willing to share info on this family if anyone is interested in an exchange. I have pictures of all of their headstones as well as pictures of the church.
