While visiting in Park River, North Dakota, last summer, I browsed through the local history book for that area. Several emigrants from Valdres settled there. I transcribed the life stories of a few of them from the book. If anyone is interested, I will send them transcripts: a.. Knut K. Lykken, b. 18 Dec 1858 in Liberty Township, Manitowoc Co., Wisconsin, and his wife Trina Sophie Erickson, born at Valders, Manitowoc Co., on 14 Dec. 1867. b.. Ole Skattebo (no birth or death year), who emigrated initially from Norway to Estherville, Iowa, and then settled in Walsh Co., North Dakota. c.. Peder Aafedt, b. 26 Apr 1845 in Sogn, Norway, and his wife Gertrude Skatteboe, born in Valdres, 1851. Gertrude was a sister of Ole Skattebo mentioned above.
