Dear Rod, Thank-you very much. I would love to talk with you and your aunt on line or via the phone. I have been researching the Holdahls for about a year after Bob Holdahl gave some things to my husband's brother. I am finding that the Skrutvolds, Gladheims, and Holdahl families had strong ties both in Norway and here. We are descendants of Soren (Sam or S.T.) from Roseau. I have met a few distant cousins on line, and know the spouses of all of the thirteen Holdahl siblings who were married. I am finding it hard to locate descendants from the Holdahls in Roseau, namely, Anna Mattson, Olaf, Ole, and Torbjorn Holdahl. Is Bendix Skrutvold who bought the store from Lars in 1914 your ancestor? I think they may have been cousins. Did Lawrence or Oliver have children? Is anybody left in Roseau from these early pioneers? These are all questions right now. I am glad to have the cemetery information. I would assume that is where Soren and Clara are buried. My aunt, Helen, is a daughter of Almer and Sigrid (Holdahl) Skrutvold. Beyond that I don't know too much. I spoke with her on the phone this a.m.. She, with her sisters, will be putting some information together about the Odegaard and Holdahl connection. I'll be waiting for her to get back to me.
