I am a WATKINS descendant. Would like to connect with the descendants of Robert 1737; Jeane/Jane 1739; MIchael 1741 and Catherine 1743. These children were listed in the inventory of the Northumberland County, VA estate of John Coppedge. Their descendants who lived in the Isle of Wight are: Beck - a Free Negro (FN), head of an Isle of Wight County household of two. He was a slave in 1810; Richard, FN in Isle of Wight in 1800. Headed a household in Richmond City in 1810; Ned, FN, and a taxable in Isle of Wight in 1800; Nat, FN, and a taxable in Isle of Wight in 1800; Jim, FN, and a taxable in Isle of Wight in 1800; and Jack, FN, taxable, in Isle of Wight in 1800; Sally, married John Eley, on November 24, 1792. My Watkins descendants may identify themselves as being of African ancestry, European ancestry, Indian (Cherokee) or a combination of all three.
