    3. Hi Priscilla, Sorry to send this through the list but, I attempted to send this to your e-mail address but it kept coming back as: Undeliverable Mail ------Transcript of session follows ------- priscillabyrd@nc.rr.com The user's email name is not found. I am glad you are finding the information I sent useful. "Chippokes" is now a State Park including the Manor House. So this is the correct spelling. As far as the books I have they came from the museum in Smithfield, they have a pretty good collection of books for sale there. The Will Books are in the courthouse in Isle of Wight, which is about five miles from Smithfield. They have some of the oldest and most complete records in Virginia. I will try to get the address of the museum as well as a phone number. There are several abstract books that you might find of interest. Marriages of Isle of Wight, Wills of Isle of Wight as well as some on Surry, and Southampton Co. I have most of them and they are paperback and run around 20 to 30 dollars. The book by King is a very big hardback that cost around $50 and the wonderful book on Smithfield has lots of pictures. If they are out of them you can also call St Luke's (the old brick church) at Benns Church, Smithfield, Va, they have a very good gift shop with some of the same books as the museum. My husband and I have just moved from the Tidewater area (Norfolk) to Hertford, NC....which is somewhat south of Elizabeth City, so getting to Smithfield takes a little longer than it used to, but I hope to get up there for more research in the near future. This Carroll family was very prolific, so trying to tie them into the right groups has been very hard. They also moved around in all four counties. Hope we can help each other in our search. Do you also live in NC? The attachment you sent is an "xls" program that we don't have on our PC - which means that we cannot access the file.. Can you do a: File Save as and use "Microsoft Works Spreadsheet" or "Microsoft Works Word Processor". We have both of those programs. You could also do a cut & paste from your file directly onto an e-mail. You can send about 10 pages per e-mail that way. Slower but effective. Thanks & Good Luck Hope
