Hi, Tomorrow my husband and I are going to Isle of Wight, Curcuit Clerk's Office, to copy some wills and deeds. I've never been before and I'm really excited. Is there a library with a history room? or somewhere I might look at references I don't have access to? Where is the best place to get a good county map? Chamber of Commerce? Also in looking at the will and deed abstracts, I see Upper Parish, Lower Parish, etc. How many parishes were there in the early 1700s? We want to go on to Smithfield. Someone told me there is a nice place to eat near the water...a bed and breakfast or something? Does anyone know the name of it? Any advice would be appreciated. I don't want to get back and discover I've missed something I really should have done or seen. Help! We leave in the morning. Joan
