Well ...hello Trudy Smith ! Your Smiths sound like my Smiths and my Powells were from Isle of Wight. My Samuel Smith s/o Wm Smith married Sarah Powell d/o John Powell & Susanna Robertson. John Powell was the great grandson of Thomas Powell & Elizabeth Hipsley. This Thomas may or may not be related to Capt Wm Powell and Gov Nathaniel Powell of Jamestowne.
