Dear Friends, Looking for any information on the parents of Matthew Spivey b. 1770 (Northampton Co, NC possibly)...I am told his father was either Brittain Spivey,Sr or Benjamin Spivey,Sr both of who migrated to Northampton co, nc. from Isle of Wight Co, Va. I understand that Brittain Spivey,Sr went back to Va and Bejamin Spivey,Sr stayed in Northampton co,NC. trying to figure out which is parent of my Matthew and then who that person's parents were and where from. The Grant family, and the Lassiter family were married into this Spivey family. Later (1880-1890) the Savage family also married into this family in NC. I do have a lineage from Matthew Spivey down through ggrandfather Stephen Shardack Spivey who's parents were John W. Spivey and Mary A. Margaret Sorsby (Soursby).
