How long have you been doing research, and where did you start looking? Andrea >> Andrea, I'm descended from Jeremiah(1) Vail. I've been doing Vail research basically since the first time I saw Ken Burns' Civil War series on PBS (about 1993), although I've had copies of the Thomas and Jeremiah genealogies since the mid-1970s. Apart from the genealogies, I started looking in the genealogy section of the Dallas Public Library, arguably one of the 10 best genealogy libraries in the country. I've learned volumes on the Net, but the library has given me answers about which there can simply be no argument, like my 5-greats g'fathers experience in the Revolutionary War. Most people here have read that dreadful ordeal more than once, so I'll spare them another repetition :-) Thanks and regards Steve Vail

    3. Steve, Would this be the Jeremiah, son of William Vail/Vale? Or the Jeremiah that came from England?
