    3. Hi Vails, Thought maybe someone might use a hint that I can give you about how to save all the wonderful information that Robert is uploading. My twinwolf server uses the Outlook mail as the mail program. I have been making directories under a folder, which I call Vail List. I am filing the messages by state, in the outlook mail, then we are moving them to A drive disk, according to the same plan, of catagorizing them by state. It will be useful in the future when looking for names. Joyce in CA http://www.geocities.com/jarmscoop

    3. Hi Robert, To clarify....I mentioned that I would check the links that you sent...I am not going crazy....really. When your message got to me, about Thomas Vail, it had a location for the cemetery. Each word in that was highlighted like it was a link. I cannot go to links from the Outlook Mail which the twinwolf server uses, so I forwarded it to the AOL. When it was in that mailbox it did not show any links. I assume twinwolf flaked again. The server does some weird things, but sometimes is quite good. It caught a virus in a message the other day, before it got to my mailbox and removed it. I wish AOL would remove some of the viruses. I keep getting attachments which were not expected from people that I don't know, and the names of the attachments are weird, so I am assuming they are all viruses. :-) Twinwolf went through a time when it was fixing its filter as far as spam went. It even marked my list mail as spam detected. I think that is straightened out now, though. You have a good day. Hope you know what I am talking about. You are sure busy uploading all that stuff. :-) I am sure the group appreciates it. I was uploading quite a bit for awhile, and had lots of appreciation from the group about it. When I unsubbed for a couple months, they wrote and told me the group would not have all the interesting messages......I go off on tangents, and will work on one line for awhile....then may not get back to it for awhile. 3. Hi Robert, Thanks for the information. I will try to check the links that you sent. What I am trying to do is connect my friend's Kansas Vails to Bishop Thomas Vail. I did find a site online that had a writing about his church etc. I have the Jeremiah line, part way, that I am trying to construct, and I have my friend's Vails a few generations back. I also have some information about some NY Vails, which I believe includes the Jeremiah line. I have been constructing it from info that I found on a Genealogy of Long Island cd, mostly (Jeremiah Line) and from some other cds that I have. I have learned that apparently Thomas connects to the Jeremiah Vail line. I have compiled from various means an ftw which has a son, Israel Everett Vail (son of Thomas Hubbard Vail), who was b. in 1832, died after 1902. It goes back to about 1500. (I am still working to verify this information of course.) My friend's Vails begin about 1870 (I do not have the parents for those b. in the 1870's. They were in Labette Co. Kansas,Topeka, and Montgomery Co. Kansas. What I need to figure out, just because it is a challenge (and I said that I would see what I could find out for my friend who has not been around her Vails in years. She has been in California for many years.); is the lines down from Thomas, which may probably lead to Milbur Milton Vail, Alonzo Delmar Vail, and Elfreida Vail plus a few more siblings. I have a down line from that. Thanks for your interest. BlankIn LDS Family History Center Film 0006532, with tax records beginning in 1791, I found a page after the 1800 Brandywine Hundred Tax List that included the following information that could be invaluable to someone researching these families. Essentially this page noted the movement of people OUT of the "hundred" where they had resided into another "hundred" and sometimes out of Delaware. Keep in mind the people mentioned could have actually moved years before and the tax taker could have just been updating the status of properties. The names appear as written and are complete since there may be other names people are interested in and associated or allied families may be apparent to a person that knows a specific lineage intimately.
