Funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. A. Cockerham and Rev. A.E. Buchan, at the Welcome Home Church on Friday, September 13, at 2:30 o'clock. Mrs. Washer was a faithful church and Sunday School worker and was greatly loved by all how knew her. She will be greatly missed in her work among the sick who lived near her. Surviving Mrs. Washer are her husband, James Washer, and two daughters, Delianne and Talmadge of Hudson; parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Vail of Atlanta; one sister, Mrs. L. C. BlankFrom: July 12, 1972 Winn Parish Enterprise News-American Jimmie Ray Vail Dies Of Gunshot Wound Monday Jimmie Ray Vail, 28, died Monday at 9:45 p.m. of a head wound, believed to be self-inflicted with a .32 caliber revolver. Percy Roberts, Winnfield police investigating officer, said Mr. Vail, on his way to work, "stopped at the top of the stairs at his home at 1305 « Center Street, and shot himself in the center of the forehead." Winn Parish Coroner Dr. David Silas, conducted an investigation at the scene of the shooting, along with Sheriff's deputies Travis Smiley and Lee Wood; Winnfield police officers Shelby Connor, Frank Phillips, and Percy Roberts; and state trooper Sgt. Marlin Connor. It was reported Dr. Silas will make further investigation into Mr. Vail's death. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Atlanta Methodist Church, and interment was in the Atlanta Cemetery. Rev. Charlie Christie and Rev. Jackie Aymond conducted the services under the direction of the Southern Funeral Home. Mr. Vail was born in Winnfield, La., December 16, 1943. He served in the armed forces from 1966 until 1968. At the time of his death he was employed as a sawmill sawyer. He is survived by his wife, Tishel Lea Vail, and a son and daughter, Jimmie Ray Vail, Jr., and Deborah Lynn Vail, all of Winnfield; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Vail of Atlanta, La.; two brothers, Charles Vail of Olla, La., and Garry Wayne Vail of Atlanta, La.; and his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. E.
