There is a Curles Neck swamp and Curles creek across the James River from the Presquile National Wildlife Refuge near the juncture of Henrico, Chesterfield and Charles City counties. I believe there used to be a Curles Neck Farm there. Also, there used to be a Curles Neck Dairy back in the 1940s.
