Hello all, With the Holiday season... I thought that I'd take moment to post what I know about my elusive Sarah "Sally" McCALL... to see if anyone recognizes 'something'. I am looking to identify her parents-siblings. We've managed to trace the STRATTON line back several generations from William STRATTON, b. 1708-1717 - d. 1780, and now have a full listing [we think] of his children, but his wife has always been an enigma. This is all that we know: Sarah "Sally" McCALL, b. 1710 - 1730 Birth location: in Powhatan Co, Va d. before 1779 Death: in Bermuda Hundred, Chesterfield Co, Va Burial: Bermuda Hundred, Chesterfield Co, Va Father: _______ McCALL Mother: ______________ m. in Powhatan Co. VA ..... William STRATTON, b. 1708-1712 Bermuda Hundred, Henrico Co. VA d. abt 1780, possibly in Cumberland Co. VA Buried: Bermuda Hundred, Chesterfield Co. VA Father: Edward STRATTON III b: 1679 Burmuda Hundred, Chesterfield Co, Va Mother: Anne BATTE b: 1689 in Charles City Co, Va Sibling: Thomas STRATTON Residence Locations for William STRATTON m. Sarah "Sally" McCALL: Bermuda Hundred, Henrico Co. VA [now Chesterfield Co. VA] Powhatan Co. VA Cumberland Co. VA The Will for William STRATTON..... does not list his wife as inheritor, so it is presumed that Sarah preceeded her husband in death. Children of William STRATTON m. Sarah "Sally" McCALL: William STRATTON John STRATTON Edward STRATTON Martha STRATTON.... who possibly m. ______ TOLER Richard STRATTON Sarah STRATTON........ b. 1759 - d. 24 Nov 1828 3rd wife of, Samuel RICE [b. 1744-1813], one known son - Samuel Russell RICE, b. 31 Oct 1787 KY Peter STRATTON....." the youngest and Sarah's favorite brother" I believe that Peter's middle name was BEAU.... which was forwarded to one of Sarah's sons, also as a middle name, and was long mistaken as a geographic anomaly [... for Bayou Bouef] rather than following the family naming pattern. We recently found data... that indicates that Powhatan Co VA was where our Sarah "Sally" McCALL may have been born... and where we might find recorded traces of her McCALL family. I can share data... for the descendants of Sarah STRATTON-Samuel RICE, but unfortunately... I can't help with the other STRATTON-McCALL lines, as we have only the information that I have outlined above.
