James HOLMAN as his guardian in 1722, Henrico Co. William WOMACK/WAMACK was his father-in-law. There is no record of what happened to the child Sarah was pregnant with. She survived Lucy and left her property to only to Lucy's children (BURTON). James Barret's will filed 15 July 1740, DB 3, p. 336 (also in "Abstracts of wills from Goochland County, Virginia, 1727-1777," by Henley, at p. 15): In the Name of God Amen. I James Barret of the County of Goochland being very Sick of body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be to God do make & ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following Viz. First I give my Soul to Almighty God that gave it in Sure and certain hope of a glorious Resurection next I give my body to be Interred at the Disposition of my Executors hereafter mentioned Next I give and dispose of my Worldly Goods as follows. Item I give to my only Daughter Lucy Barret One Negro man named George and one negro Woman Called Judith and all her Sursease to her my [?] Daughter Lucy Barrett and her Heirs. Item I leave all the Remainder of the Estate real and personal to my Loving Wife Sarah Barrett during her Natural life and after her decease to the Child She now goes with if a boy and if a Girl to be Equally Divided between them my two Daughters and if one dies then to the Surviving one. Item I do appoint Capt. James Holman and Capt. Willia! m Wamack and my Loving Wife Sarah Barrett Executors of this my last Will and Testament. Signed Sealed and Acknowledged in presence of Us John Williams, Charles Jordan, Robert Barber his James JB Barret mark At a Court held for Goochland County July 15th, 1740. This Will was proved by the Oaths of John Williams and Robert Barber Witnesses thereto to be the Last Will and Testatment of James Barret dec'd, which was Ordered to be Recorded.
