Thanks. I so badly want to know if any or all of those 11 were other Cardwell family members. It seems the family were Catholic recusants, spied on back in Lancashire for suspicion of holding illegal church services at the home of Richard Cardwell, a Cardwell member (John) who was a priest was executed; they were at one time quite prominent in the area but then seemed to have disappeared from the records. I [and my source in Lancashire] wonder if they emigrated to Virginia. Perhaps Thomas the immigrant [father of this Thomas] came first (1636), and then he or his son sent for more. Since 1689 is the year Thomas the immigrant died, the headrights Thomas 2 used to get the 550 acres of land might have been his, or his son's. Nancy ------- I was never lost, but I was bewildered once for three days. --Daniel Boone On Jan 5, 2007, at 10:53 AM, james garrett wrote: > Nancy, > Thomas Cardwell did recieve 5550 acres in Henrico in Apr 1689 for > transporting 11 persons, but unfortunately the 11 persons are not > listed. > He is the only Caldwell mentioned in the book. > Sorry. > > JW Garrett > > > -----Original Message----- > From: Sunshine49 > Sent: Friday, January 5, 2007 9:04 AM > To: vahenric@rootsweb.com > Subject: Re: [VAHENRIC] ATTN: James River Harrison Descendants! > > where do you find the listed names of those who were transported by a > person?
