I finally found a census entry for Nancy (aka Ann) WONYCOTT, born 1820 and daughter, Elizabeth WONYCOTT, born 1856, in 1870 Richmond. Nancy was the widow of James WONYCOTT who died in Feb 1860. Their surname is spelt in many variations - Wanicutt, Wonicutt etc. In Nancy's 1870 household was one Phebe BLANKENSHIP, age 82 (born 1788) in Virginia. Was she the mother of Nancy Wonycott? I searched through the 1850 and 1860 census returns, but could not find any trace of Phebe. I also tried Nancy/Ann Blankenship in 1850, but again, could find nothing. Can anyone suggest how I might go about proving or disproving that Nancy was the daughter of Phebe Blankenship?? Any leads appreciated. Steve Marshall
