Abt 1857 Henrico Co. my GGF JOHN A. (ADOLPHUS?) HOUSEMAN marries woman with 3 children. 1862 Henrico Co. John and Henry join large CSA Artillery Unit in Richmond, VA and both make it through the war. 1870 Fluvanna Co. find John HOUSEMAN as single, farmer. 1877 Buckingham Co. he marries my GGM Elvira Banton. 1880 Census Buckingham Co. John and Elvira have Adolphus age 1 born 1877-79. My GF Samuel Glover Housman(sp) shows up on county birth records just after census was taken. John and Elvira never show up again. Old family rumor, both parents either died or got killed and relatives raised them. Belived one is name for fraternal grandfather and Samuel named for maternal grandfather. 1840 Census Fluvanna Co. Shows Adolphus HOUSMAN(sp) whom I believed died by 1850 and left 2 or 3 boys listed above. Any look-ups would be appreciated. I live near Atlanta, GA. and have to take leave to get to a large library.
