    3. Thanks Karen. It is coincidently, but probably not a connection. I have scoured Blankenship marriages, but only found one (LeRoy Blankenship/Phebe Kyser or Kyper, 1839 Chesterfield) that had a Phebe for a wife. If this is her, then Nancy wasn't a Blankenship, as she was born c1820. Maybe her mother's second marriage or maybe no relationship at all! I have no idea what gremlin is sending out my mail when I'm not done! Phebe Blankenship, d/o Hudson Blankenship, married Lemuel Colbert in 1790 in Campbell Co VA. They moved to Pittsylvania in 1792 and bought land which they sold in 1794. I do not find them buying land again, and he disappears from all records after 1809, but Phebe was 95 in 1860, blind, living with her widowed daughter, Nancy Colbert Walker, widow of Robert Walker, who she married in 1809. My Phebe disappears after the 1860 census, but Nancy Walker lived on until at least the 1880 census, where she too was listed as blind, but her age varies through the censuses so often, I can't say when she was born. That probably doesn't help you, but an odd coincidence that a Phebe Blankenship had a daughter Nancy..... with whom she later lived. -----Original Message----- From: vahenric-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:vahenric-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Steve Marshall Sent: Saturday, November 04, 2006 2:07 PM To: VAHENRIC-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [VAHENRIC] BLANKENSHIP - Richmond I finally found a census entry for Nancy (aka Ann) WONYCOTT, born 1820 and daughter, Elizabeth WONYCOTT, born 1856, in 1870 Richmond. Nancy was the widow of James WONYCOTT who died in Feb 1860. Their surname is spelt in many variations - Wanicutt, Wonicutt etc. In Nancy's 1870 household was one Phebe BLANKENSHIP, age 82 (born 1788) in Virginia. Was she the mother of Nancy Wonycott? I searched through the 1850 and 1860 census returns, but could not find any trace of Phebe. I also tried Nancy/Ann Blankenship in 1850, but again, could find nothing. Can anyone suggest how I might go about proving or disproving that Nancy was the daughter of Phebe Blankenship?? Any leads appreciated. 3. Ophelia is another name for Phebe. Have you thought of that?
