Anne, The Gaines Mill battle was in Hanover Co., VA. It's off of Cold Harbor Rd. in Mechanicsville, Va. It was part of the seven days battles. Oakwood Cemetery burials are on microfilm at the Library of Va. and probably you can get them at your local FHC. I don't know if the burial records include the Civil War soldiers or not.
