My gggg-grandmother was Mary Brown, daughter of William, who married Hezekiah Ellis in 1829. William was Micajah's son and he married Mary Smoot, Benjamin's daughter. I have recently found a marriage record of a Obediah Ellis who married Martha Brown, also a daughter of William. My Hezekiah's 1st born was named Obediah, so I believe the previously mentioned Obediah was Hezekiah's brother, and if so, brothers married sisters...something that happened quite often. My family tree is very tangled with the names Ellis, Smoot, Brown and Alley.
