My grandmother was sheltered at the Sheltering Arms prior to and during the time my father was born. He was born April 10, 1910 and it is reported that he was delivered by a Dr. Selden after whom he was named. After his birth my grandmother studied nursing at the Barnes hospital. I know the hospital no longer exists and the Dept of Vital Statistics in Henrico apparently does not have a record of his birth.My grandmother and grandfather were separated and she arrangements for her to stay at the Sheltering Arms were made by a Masonic Lodge. Follow up notes show that my dad was placed in a private home in Richmond and that his room and board was paid for three years. I need help. Pleasel. My grandmother was Margaredt E.
