    3. Charles Terrell married Ann Lewis Phillips, widow of William Phillips. They had two children, Nicholas born in 1803, and Joseph Zachary born in 1806. He is not mentioned in her will, so apparently he predeceased her. If you're interested, I can send you the will. --Sally ----- Original Message ----- From: <kennybec@msn.com> To: <VAHENRIC-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, February 21, 2006 10:53 AM Subject: [VAHENRIC] Charles Terrell...Fanshaw? > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: Tucker, McNeil, Lowry > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/WBC.2ACI/2845 > > Message Board Post: > > Looking for info on a Charles Terrell who lived at Fanshaw, an estate > presumably. I have a John Henry Henley born 1859 in Staffordshire, England-John immigrated to US I think in the 1870's, definately by 1877, but probably b-4. Do you know the name of your hubby's Hendley kin that came over with his brother from England? Do you know the year he was born, where he was born, and his parents and siblings names, if known? My John changed his name from Hennly to Henley, I figure John changed his name when he arrived in America. The issue is, I figure John Henry Henley came over from England with his kin, but the stories handed down never mentioned a thing bout John's immigration. I have been unable to find the data concerning who John came over to US with. Susan Please email me: shaines16@pcs.com

    2. James and Barbara Dooley
    3. I am searching for the parents of Mary Elam who married Henry London/Lunnon in Mecklenburg Co., VA, in 1802. She was born in VA circa 1768 and died in Cleveland Co. (formerly Rutherford Co.), NC, in 1860. Opal London Cox, in her book, The London Family, wrote the following: (This is info she abstracts from two different books. I'll type it here exactly as she put it in her book.) >(COLONIAL WILLS OF GA. Martin Elam of Wilkes Co. Ga. 1798 wills to >Frances Barnes of Charlotte Co. Va. Wm. Elam, Martin Elam adj. Almond and >Edwin Elam, dated 28 April 1790 prob. 5 Feb. 1798. HISTORY OF SOUTHERN >FAMILIES, Boddie, Vol. 1, pg. 226, Wm Elam will dated 1688 Henrico Co. Va. >gave 1 shilling to his son-in-law John Cox Sr., rest to Martin Elam of his >estate mentioned above. Henry Lunnon md. Mary Elam of Mecklenburg Co. Va. >and mentioned here in connection with Frances Barnes of Charlotte Co. Va). I wonder if anyone has a copy of the Henrico Co. 1688 will of Wm. Elam. I really would like to see the reference to Henry and Mary that Mrs. Cox wrote about. It's interesting to me that Wilkes Co., GA; Charlotte Co., VA; Henrico Co., VA; and Mecklenburg Co., VA are all mentioned. I'm not sure how all these people fit together, but would like to know if Mary is related to either Martin or Wm. Elam. Thanks for any help or suggestions. Barbara Dooley Cullowhee, NC

    3. Thank you for your reply Ben. I did ck SSDI . What I am looking for is perhaps someplace or someone related to Elmer P. Tillman or have knowledge of whether or not Verna remarried that would know of her last name. All in her family that would know that ans. are all deceased. Until recently I didn't even know she and Elmer were divorced. My cuz in VA looked in the 'military records' on Ancestry and found out that info for me. I am not a subscriber to Ancestry. Everything I try to find out always goes to Ancestry to subscribe. At this time that is not a financial option for me. The last info I have is 1930 census for Henrico County, Richmond and nothing since on Verna. That's the reason I guess is because she must have remarried and can't look anything up without a last name. I need her death date and where she is buried. I suspect she stayed in Henrico County but under what name? Thanks for trying.
