I am hoping to find residents of Richmond in the 1940s-1950s who remember Mr. Ernest L. May, a "peddler" who made daily rounds in his dark green truck selling fresh produce, eggs, baked goods and candy. I am interested in hearing from anyone who can give details about Mr. May, his truck, the items he sold, or any other related memories. Expectantly, Gale McCartney galemccartney@adelphia.net

I'm pretty sure the info you have found on the net is from my web site. Since 2002, I've obtained a copy of the marriage bond dated Dec 29, 1805 (I'm at work and going from memory so don't go to the bank with the info) and the old family Bible turned up last year in the hands of a descendent. The bible confirmed that the Archibald marrying Elizabeth White in Richmond is the same Archibald that is found in Halifax Co., Va by 1813. If you would like, contact me offline at trashspam01@comcast.net Don't mean to insult you with the address, it's a throw away address I can post in an open forum. I'd love to share info with you.

It is fairly accurate to the branch I belong to, which intersects with the Thaxtons. Emmett W. Thaxton is my mother's (Anne Thaxton Lowe Helms) Grandfather. I found the McMillan website in Scotland. Whew, more than I wanted to know about clans and alliances, etc. Anyway, You've probably gotten the info you needed since the post was July 2002. Happy hunting. Stan Helms

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/WBC.2ACI/2897 Message Board Post: I am seeking any sort of documentation I can find to connect my 4th g-grandfather, William JONES to his parents (Unknown). As I showed in the subject line, there is a record of their marriage in Columbia Co., GA in 1797. I was able to connect Lucy THOMPSON to her family (William THOMPSON). I found that William THOMPSON (Sr. and Jr.) relocated from Henrico Co., VA where their family had lived since the late 1600's, to Columbia Co. GA for grants of land for service in the war. This would have occurred in the mid to late 1780's. I know that when the THOMPSON's went, there were some other families that traveled to GA with them. I do not know whether my JONES' were in that group or if they were already in GA when the THOMPSON's arrived there. ANY help along the lines of identifying the family of William JONES would be greatly appreciated. I am guessing that at the time of the move from VA to GA, he would have been in his teens or possibly a young adult. Thanks, Bill Jones Winfield, KS
