    3. Sue, When and where did Thomas Andrew write his will? Was it Essex Co.? What year? JW Garrett -----Original Message----- From: Sue Gill Sent: Wednesday, January 3, 2007 8:08 PM To: vahenric@rootsweb.com, gc-gateway@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [VAHENRIC] ATTN: James River Harrison Descendants! Does anyone know if the Garretts and the Andrews (descendants of Thomas Andrews) intermarried? I have William Andrews, who married Avis. Some say that she was Avis Garnett, but a few years ago several people worked on that, and decided that it was most likely incorrect. Avis Garnett lived a long way from the Henrico/Chesterfield Co. area, in Essex Co., and married "Mark" Andrews. Is it possible that the Avis who married our William Andrews was a Garrett instead? I know that Thomas Andrews lived near Wm. Garrat, as seen in this from his will: Item: I give and bequeath to my son Richard Andrews one hundred acres of Land more or less where he now liveth beginning at a corner that was formerly Wm. Garrat's line, then to a corner black oak by the Road to him the said Richard his Heirs and assigns forever. Just thought I'd see if you had any thoughts about this. 3. If any of you notice a possible marriage in Henrico/Chesterfield Co, or even Dinwiddie, between an Andrews and a Garrett, please let me know. When I first read your email tonight it just made me wonder if the name should have been Avis "Garrett" rather than "Garnett." It is just something to think about, and with the difficulty in reading old records at times, it might have been mistaken years ago. If something looks promising, please let me know. Best of luck on your Garrett search.
