They lived in the Amherst/Nelson/Buckingham County area. That would place their marriage about 1768. In "Early Spencers of Virginia" by Henry Rigby on pages 189-191 is a detailing of father John Farrar, his will and family . Please let me know if you are interested in more.

    1. [VAHENRIC] Molecular Genealogy Research Project
    2. Judith McGowan
    3. If you are in the Richmond, VA area, please read the following: To date only 80 people have registered to participate. There is a minimum requirement of 200 pre-registered participants in order for them to come here for this. Please visit the website and consider participating.: Molecular Genealogy links individuals in "family trees" using the unique identification of genetic markets. This is accomplished by using the information encoded in the DNA of an individual an/or population to determine the relatedness of individuals, families, tribal groups, and populations. Pedigrees based on genetic markers can reveal relationships not detectable in genealogies based only on names, written records, or oral traditions. The Brigham Young University Center for Molecular Genealogy and the Sorenson Molecular Genealogy Foundation will have a representative in Richmond, Virginia on the following dates and times: Friday, August 23, 2002 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM 4601 N. Bailey Bridge Road (off Hull Street in Chesterfield, Va.) -AND- Saturday, August 24, 2002 9:00 AM - 12:00 noon 5600 Monument Avenue Richmond, Va. Each meeting will begin (at 6:00 PM on Friday and at 9:00 AM on Saturday) with a short discussion of the project, followed by the DNA collection, so be sure to be at the beginning if you want to be updated on the process details. Requirements to participate: Bring with you a complete biological pedigree chart with your information as generation#1. A minimum of four generations (donor, 2 parents, 4 gparents, 8 ggparents). More may be submitted, but must include a hard copy as well as a GEDCOM file on diskette. Donation of a small DNA sample (6cc's; less than = Tbsp) obtained through a small blood draw from the arm. Participant must be 18 years of age or older. Want to participate?
