Good for not only us genealogists but for those who just want family info --- and most especially for those we have trouble getting information from as we pull our roots stories together and work on our family books. Just wanted to share this one Cheers and good diggin' Karleene on the coast of Oregon Researching Wm Perkins of New Kent VA 1698 fwd and related families/adjacent counties

Do any of these names ring a bell? Wm. D. Wright Jr. was my g-grandfather. The D. stands for Delaware, and I understand he was sometimes called Dellie. He was married at least 3 times, and I am decended from his 2nd wife Charlotte Lyne -d/o James Lyne and Zenobia Blackburn. He lived in Highland Springs when he was married to Charlotte. I know there were children from all 3 marriages but I do not have names. When he "abandoned" Charlotte - divorced I assume - the family refused to speak of him again and I have nothing except these Bible pages. My grandfather, the oldest of Charlotte's children, was 7 or 8 when his father left and had almost no memory of him. I'm hoping children from one of the other marriages might have information. My mother has always wanted to meet her other aunts and uncles but the family was shocked at the suggestion so she dropped it. Wm and Charlotte had 4 children: Clyde Harvell Carlyle Powatan Gladys Loraine Leroy Wingfield Clyde Harvell m. June 15, 1933 Margaret Lucille Sutton 2 children: Beverly W m. Owen Cambell Marilyn Sutton W. m. Charles C. Montgomery (my parents) I would appreciate any help locating or identifying decendents of Wm.D. Wright Jr.'s other marriages as well as his (and Charlotte Lyne's) ancestors. Sarah Montgomery

    2. Lisa Grimes
    3. Hello all, With the Holiday season... I thought that I'd take moment to post what I know about my elusive Sarah "Sally" McCALL... to see if anyone recognizes 'something'. I am looking to identify her parents-siblings. We've managed to trace the STRATTON line back several generations from William STRATTON, b. 1708-1717 - d. 1780, and now have a full listing [we think] of his children, but his wife has always been an enigma. This is all that we know: Sarah "Sally" McCALL, b. 1710 - 1730 Birth location: in Powhatan Co, Va d. before 1779 Death: in Bermuda Hundred, Chesterfield Co, Va Burial: Bermuda Hundred, Chesterfield Co, Va Father: _______ McCALL Mother: ______________ m. in Powhatan Co. We recently found data... that indicates that Powhatan Co VA was where our Sarah "Sally" McCALL may have been born... and where we might find recorded traces of her McCALL family. I can share data... for the descendants of Sarah STRATTON-Samuel RICE, but unfortunately... I can't help with the other STRATTON-McCALL lines, as we have only the information that I have outlined above. 2. Hi, Carol - Vital records films for Henrico at the Library of VA begin with the year 1853, the year the state govt required towns to keep records and transmit them to a central office. However - you may be able to find birth info from a death record which, I believe, are available for the year 1871 on microfilm from the Library of VA thru interlibrary loan. My inventory book ["A Preliminary Guide to Pre-1904 County Records in the VA State Library and Archives"] indicates that Henrico death records go only to 1870, but I seem to remember that they have Henrico deaths up to 1896 or so, then it skips to 1912 and onward. You might check this out since death records often contain a birth date. There is no document that I have found so far that definitely states that Richard of Goochland and Richard of Pittsylvania are one in the same. However, there are many names that appear in Goochland that are tied to the Parsons family in Pittsylvania. Richard of Goochland married Lydia Briggs. Her name as well as her brother's are in Henrico when they choose their guardians. However, I have found no record of their parents. I'll be happy to share what information I have. 3. "Early virginia immigrants, by G.C. Greer, Clerk of the VA State Land Office, contains a list of some 25,000 persons who came to Virginia from 1623 to 1666, together with the patentee or person who brought them over. In this list is : Thomas Prewitt, 1636, by Joane Bennet, to Charles River Country. On May 6, 1636, Joane Bennett, widow, received 450 acres in Charles River Co., VA. upon the new Poqueson River, east towards the bays, west into the woods, north up9on the Pinye Swamp (River) and south upon Robert Thrasher. 50 acres due for trasfer of 8 persons: Ann Winter, John Roote, Jon Marshall, Thomas Prewitt, Andrew Chant, Jon Morris, and Pole Carplights. He immigrated to Charles River County, Virginia on May 6, 1636. His religion was Quaker." I found the above info on the internet. My relative, Thomas Prewitt, I hope, is the first Prewitt I have found and I am trying to find more info about him. Is there a website or forum for Charles River County, VA? Or for the Quakers in VA in 1636? Or anything about the ship that Joanne Bennet brought her indentured persons over on and where it landed? Thanks for any help!!!! I am root-bound!! That would mean that John Ellis III, born 1685, married his half sister. Obviously, this cannot be. I would VERY MUCH like to exchange info. with you to see if we can straighten this out. Thanks!
