Surnames: Cross Patmon Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/VBC.2ACI/1273 Message Board Post: searching for information on Mary Cross, who appears in the 1860 Census as age 66 (b. ~1794), living in the Negrofoot area of Upper Revenue District, Hanover County. Mary's household included her daughter, Amelia (b. ~ 1822, VA), son-in-law Watson Patmon (b. ~ 1824, VA), 2 young sons, and two Crenshaws. Mary owned land and several slaves in 1860. She also appears on the 1840 census as "Head of Household", so was probably widowed by then, and apparently had 2 sons and 3 daughters in the household at that time. Trying to find out which Cross she was married to, her maiden name, and the names of her children. She would have died after the 1860 census, as she doesn't appear on the 1870 census. Any information on Watson Patmon, husband of Amelia, also.
