I only have volume 1. However, I did look up Vass in my other Hanover books and all only one had any info.: Hanover County, Virginia A Retrospective: p.16 " A thriving little farming and residential community, the Elmont neighborhood is on the direct line between Ashland and Richmond.........names of citizens of the section in 1892 were Davis, Vass, Stone, Jenkins, Dr. Woodridge, Hargrove, Priddy, anker, Bazile, and Fox. p.24 " Walnut Shade is another old Wingfield home. The name Rafe Wingfield is on the big chimney. The place is now owned by Bob Vass. Vass was the first owner of Prospect Hill. The old house burned in 1888. Judge Cardwell built the present home and the Cardwells still live there. Knapps is the home of the Vass family. Good Luck Jennifer Breshears
