The reason why I believe she is Martha Mallory is that the ages match when you compare the census ages. James Harvey Baker is in the household of William Mallowry as a laborer/handyman. He is 2 years old in the 1860 census in the household of Mary Baker with Benjamin, Amediah, and Virginia. I don't have access to the 1850 census. James Harvey next appears in the 1900 census where he is married with his family. By the way, the Lane family changed its spelling to Layne when the children complained how hard it was to know who was who. George Thomas and Anna Lane decided to begin spelling Lane with a Y. One final comment--I purchased the compiled Hanover Death Records 1853-1896 this week at the Page Library. Albert Lane (married to Susan) is listed in there and his death was reported by his father, Jasper Lane. Jasper had another son or two listed in there. The book is great!
