I know the Nelson Lowry is right, I have documentation on him but Mary Nelson I don't. Nelson b 1781 Caroline Co., Va. d July 11, 1834 not known where or where he is buried? Mary Nelson b 1771 Caroline Co., Va. d Jan. 6, 1859 Winfield, Missouri Lincoln County They would have been married ca. 1797/8 because first child is born ca. 1798. Now, this is what the Mormon's have, which I take with a grain of salt because I have never been able to prove this in over thirty years that I've been doing genealogy. I've looked in all the books that I have here at the library, gotten on the internet and I've never seen any proof of this. But supposedly Mary Nelson's parents are Col. William Nelson b abt. 1745 and Lucy Chiswell who were married Nov. 24, 1770. So, this could be Mary's parents because she was born 1771, but I want put this in my history because I have no actual proof. I've often wondered if maybe Mary was married before she married Nelson because of the 10 yrs.age difference. Col. Wm. Nelson's parents are listed as being Thomas and Lucy Armistead. I know that this Nelson line from everything that I have researched is a very prestigious line and goes way back to the Randolph and Pages and with everything that is out there, it seems like I would have found the proof that I need but I haven't. If this Mary is right they probably disowned her for marrying "beneath her" because my Lowry line was jsut good ole country folk probably. Anyway, that's for responding and if you ever come across the Lowry name, let me know. Rebecca
