As I am sure you know this is a very inconsistant record. It has large gaps and people that simple seem to drop off the face of this earth, BUT With that being said....Colonel William Nelson was the son of Thomas, Thomas the signer and grand son of Thomas & Frances Courtenay. William was born 6-17-1746 in Hanover. His wife was Mary Chiswell dau of John Chiswell and Elizabeth Randolph. William and Mary had a daughter Lucy that was born in 1771, but their daughter Mary Chiswell Nelson wasn't born until 4-1783. It shows that Mary, dau of Wm & Mary, married Mann Page, son of Robert & Elizabeth Carter. They had 3 sons, Robert, Charles & John. No subsequent marriage to a Lowery is noted but if she did remarry it would have been after 1808, since this is when their last son John was born. Hope this aids in some way to your research. Elaine
