Col.Samuel Hopkins who lived in Hanover Co. , Va. after the end of the Rev. War. He was born in Albemarle Co. and also lived in Mecklenberg Co. I have heard he was appointed a Major General in the Brunswick Co. militia around 1790-95. He may have been in Va. House of Delegates prior to 1797. He moved to Ky. around 1800.
