    1. Re: [VAHANOVE] Corley and Walker, late 1700s
    2. May I suggest that if you are looking for the subject families in the 1700s in and around Hanover Co., VA (county boundary lines changed--please remember this), you might try searching the land patents (not the Northern Neck land patents for Hanover and surrounding counties) on this online database: http://image.vtls.com/collections/cc_archive.html#gene Try the link which indicates there is a NEW searchable database. I didn't try the surname Walker, although I tried Corley, and there were several hits. Here are some sketchy notes concerning my ancestor Robert Harris of colonial Hanover Co., later of Louisa Co., and at times of Albemarle Co. One of the notes refers to a Walker's Neck--therefore there must have been a Walker or two in the vicinity! Geography pertinent to Robert Harris, Major: 1727 -New Found River, New Kent Co. (Patent of 16 Jun 1727), later in Hanover Co. 1733 - Elk Creek, so fork, Hanover, ca 1733 1733 - North Fork of Little River, Hanover Co .(nbrs: S. Pettus, J. Garland, Wm. Mulin, Benj. Brown, Wm Harris & Benj Bibb - sold to bro Benj Harris) 1733 - Walkers Neck - bought fr bro Benj Harris - left to Benj by last will & testament of father Wm Harris 1733-34 -witness to several Hanover Co. deeds, including one of his brother James Harris (relinq by James's wife Elizabeth) 2nd fork of Pamunkey R on the north side of Little River. Other witnesses: Robert Harris, Jr. and Wm Harris, Robt & Robt Jr and Benj Brown witnessed deed of William Mullings to William Harris Incidentally, many of the deeds of early Louisa Co., VA refer to residents of Hanover Co. If you get any good leads, you may want to look over Louisa Co. deeds. E.W.Wallace who has lots of colonial Virginia roots

    3. Does any have information about Elizabeth Harris who married John Fleming about 1786 in Louisa Co.? Elizabeth's father was Micajob Harris. I am trying to gather info about the Harris' and the Flemings of Hanover and Louisa counties. Thanks, any help is appreciated.
