The following from the Overton book: "George Poindexter II was born in 1651/52 in Jersey, England. He was vestryman and church warden of St. Peter's Parish, New Kent co., VA, 1704-05-06. He died 3.12.1716 (St. Peter's Parish records). Several contemporary researchers say his wife's name was unknown, although PDA records designate mary (perhaps Overton?) as wife of George II, rather than of George III." An entry for George Poindexter III, says: "His wife's name has been widely recorded as "Mary(perhaps verton?)" [Landers] but no source has been found in Poindexter or Overton records. She died in 1733 (St. Peter's Parish records)."
