My goodness - King & Queen County names - Bagby, Fleet, and Gwathmey !! I truly hope that when you visit the Richmond area, you will include a trip to King & Queen County and see Bruington Baptist Church, if you haven't already. I recently obtained a copy of the history of this wonderful old church, and there are numerous references to the names you are researching. Of special interest to me was a picture of "Miss Olive" Bagby, when she began serving as a Southern Baptist missionary to China in 1915. I knew her in her declining years, and I would chuckle whenever someone would ask her if she happened to know so-and-so. She'd ask, "are they Baptists?" If the answer was no, she would respond, "well, then, I wouldn't know them." So devoted was she to her calling, it was her entire world. The Virginia Baptist Historical Society located on the grounds of the University of Richmond, would also be a tremendous resource for you, if you wish to know more about the contributions of Bagby's, Fleet's, and Gwathmey's.
