Sheri From the Old Homes book...Oakley Hill Farm on Cold Harbor near Walnut Grove Church..home of Edward & Sarah Syndor.The family owned tracts of land adjoining each other in the area which include Dungarvon on rt. 615..now owned by the late Oscar Via Sr. UH..OH!!) in 1845 Edward gave 2 acres of his farm to build Walnut Grove Church.Edward was b-12-12-1801-s/o Edward Garland Syndor(1769)>Edward resided on his farm from 1839..248a,part of a tract of 410 a conveyed to William B.Snydor by Miles Cary Macon and Frances his wife....south were lands of William G. Overton known as Fairfield.Oakley Hill saw battles during the war.
