George W Barker 4. William E., Jr (b. ca 1832) *the above is not proven, my original source was Men of Matedequin by June Banks Evans....I have found this book to be the most valuable of my sources, it is what started my genealogy journey and after all these years, I am still able to go to it when I need to figure out possible scenarios. Sallie married Ellyson Gaulding which is my line. The above Sally Cruchfield died 23 Oct 1865 (per her son J F McGhee) Elizabeth Ellet is said to have been the daughter of Susanna Alvis Ellet I have long tried to discover more about this Tyler line. Tradition has William Tyler a brother or nephew of President John Tyler, but I have found no evidence and have my doubts. There is a Madison Tyler who weaves in & out....I suspect him to be a brother of William E Tyler Sr. Sallie and Ellyson Gaulding lived very interesting lives and from what I have learned about them, I am proud to be their 3rd g-grandaughter. They had a son named Tyler who was b. 22 Oct 1855 & died 1865. I suspect measles, but have nothing to base that on, just an "educated guess". Sallie and Ellyson both died in 1880, he in August, she in December. On the 1880 census, she is listed as suffering from "dyspepsia" which could have been anything from an ulcer to heartburn, to stomach cancer" They were both fairly young at death & I would like to learn the cause.
