    1. [VAHANOVE] Re: VAHANOVE-D Digest V02 #60
    2. Hello Mary Jane. Thanks for replying to my post. I am looking for the John C.McGehee supposedly in Hanover on a 1841 census? Is there some kind of reconstructed tax list for that year? I thought the census was in 1840? When were the county records burned? And yes there is a relation to the Thompsons but I am not sure yet how. Here is what I have proof of. Milton McGehee born 1810-1816 VA and son of John C. McGehee .Milton went to Wilson Co TN by 1834 or before and married there to Lydia Alexander. His bondsman was R.H.Thompson (uncle?). Milton again married in 1837. By 1839 he had moved to west TN where he died in 1846.The Tompsons also moved there . So I only have him on 1840 census inwest TN . His age could be wrong . Since according to LDS records he shows up with John C.as father in Hanover on this 1841 record I am wonderig if this Milton in VA is the father of my Milton in TN.Or if my Milton went back to Hanover in 1841 and returned to west TN by 1843. I did have the Louisa records you posted. Thanks . But I do not have Hanover records . Abraham b 1765 of Louisa Co VA in 1811 went to Wilson Co TN also and left for Ala by 1819. I have copious amounts of info on that line. And all lines connected to Abraham and all hs brothers. My Milton had one son born 1845 who he named John C. This is my gr-grandfather. Is there a web site I can go to that has info on Hanover Co? What can you all tell me about records that are available for Hanover. Any help appreciated. P.H.
