My response: I don't have late info on Louisa Co. residents, but on a tax list of Louisa Co. ca 1782, there is this Lowry male, which may give you a clue as to your Lowrey family: (p. 144) HUNDRED #1, 20 October 1782 by Turner Anderson & Henry Garrett [they were the listing persons--generally captains of the militia or a constable] White/Black Absalom Lowrey - 5 [blacks] (Rosalie Edith Davis, LOUISA COUNTY, VIRGINIA TITHABLES AND CENSUS 1743-1785 [Manchester, MO" Published by author, 1988], p. 95) Earlier, on a list 1782 by Thomas Johnson (p. 147 of Louisa tithable list): Absalum Lowry 1 (It is be noted that on this particular list, most tithables have their slaves listed by name; therefore it is assumed that the "1" refers to the tithable himself) Ask your public library to help you locate in your neighborhood (if you can) the volumes (3 of them) called the 1787 Census of Virginia by Netti Schreiner-Yantis and Florene Love. These are tax lists for the counties claimed by Virginia, including all of Eastern Kentucky and what is now West Virginia--and perhaps parts of PA and OH. You may find later Lowreys clustered in the same neighborhood as the Harrises you seek. William Harris Junr--a could be, with such a common first name!!! I am descended from Major Robert Harris and his son Christopher. Patrick is a name not found in this particular Harris family.
