Thanks for checking this out. Woodman Hall was a meeting place/dance hall for Modern Woodmen of America quite a few years ago from what I've been told. The building stood on what is now Woodman Hall Rd in Montpelier. It was bought by my great grandfather in the early 1950's and later my great uncle who eventually took down the structure, kept the foundation and built what is now our home on it. Recently I came upon a photograph in a newly published book about Hanover history and there is a shot of the Woodman Hall building in the background. I'm interested in as much information about the history of this place as I can find. Thanks very much! > > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to VAHANOVE-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message

I will definitely pay a visit to Judy Lowry at the Montpelier Branch. Incidentally, I ran across your post regarding Hopeful Baptist Church. I was a member there for over 15 years (from 1981 til 1996). There was someone in my youth group there with the last name Walton. He was the grandson of Irma and Lewis Bourne, but to my knowledge the rest of his family did not attend. You might try looking them up or maybe even contacting the church secretary for more records. Good luck in your search and thanks again for your help! -Gwen (RaRy0228@aol.com)
