My husband & I went out to Forest Lawn Cemetery yesterday to put some flowers on his father's gravesite and I found some of my family members, but I'm lost on why some of these folks are buried in this family plot. I don't seem to have any connections for them. The ones I'm confused on have *'s beside their names below. Can anyone help? All the info is straight from their headstones. In Timberlake Plot-- (in order as buried) Richard S. Perrin 2/12/1891-2/5/1973 Clara C. Perrin 11/17/1902-12/19/1988 Mary B. Timberlake 11/3/1876-5/8/1931 *John Seay 7/22/1858-11/13/1930 *Ida M. Seay 9/26/1863-3/12/1939 Lynn Timberlake 1/27/1914-11/14/1962 *Claude Edward Gentry 4/1/1907-11/11/1967 I also found the Tyler plot of William A. Tyler and Maggie Harlow. Her mother is buried there with them and her name/info is: Bettie Kelley Harlow 8/3/1850-11/13/1933 "Our Beloved Mother" There are 11 (that are visible) buried in that plot. (Surnames include Tyler, Harlow, Wright, Loflin, and Enroughty) If anyone is interested in those names/dates/relations, please let me know & I'll pass that info along as well. (I can at least connect them all together) Thanks, Sheri Millikin

So far as I know the Vestry Book is still only available in book form. I've had mine several years but it is still a very popular book. I imagine somebody is still selling it. Mickey Fournier PO Box 1967, Lake City, FL 32056 My response: By using the online Family History Library Catalog at www.familysearch.org I found that the St. Peter's Parish register has been put on three microfiche (make that three) by the Library. It is number 6048679. This can be ordered through your nearby LDS center for 15 cents per microfiche. (For a list of FHCs, perhaps in your neighborhood, use the same URL. The list and the catalog are both on the lower right of the screen.) The vestry book (different than the register) has been filmed. It is on LDS film 1425605, Item 5, Vestry Book of St. Peter's Parish. This will cost you about $4.00 or less to order through your local LDS center. New Kent Co. was the parent county of Hanover Co. Louisa Co. was the progeny county (as were several others). Rosalie Edith Davis of Manchester, MO has two volumes of Fredericksville Parish, Louisa Co. 1742-1787. In the Index 1810 Virginia Census listed in Hanover Co, VA there are several HANES mentioned. David David, Jr. Dunston Gidion James John Pleasant There are also several HANES families listed in the 1850 Hanover Co, US Census I realize the spelling is different, but could this be a possible connection for you? The reason I suggest this is because of one name in particular in my own family tree that this very same thing happened to....Southard, Southward, Southworth...all from same family, but spelled differently within the Census'. Just a thought/suggestion. Hi Carol! One of my ancestors, John HAYNES, was b. in Hanover Co., VA in 1753. After serving in the Revolution, he moved to Bedford Co., VA, where he died in 1840+. His father, was a William HAYNES, b. ca 1710, who also moved to Bedford Co., where he d. in 1780. I have no idea where William moved from, but if John is his son, I would assume that William spent some time in Hanover Co. I have monitored this list for many years in hopes of some mention of my HAYNES, and now you refer to William. Do you have any records of when he bought/sold this land? I have lots of data on this branch of the HAYNES family on my web site: www.HaynesFamily.com I would love to hear from anyone who can help me pursue this Hanover County lead. John Haynes ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Bruce The only reference i see is a William Haynes in the Falling Creek/South Anna River area His land joined a Adam Ratherford- in 1722-1728.This is in the Beaverdam area near a farm called Greenfield&(Greenland)There is quite a long article on Greenfield but this was the only mention of William Haynes < ---!!! in the article. Just curious, which line of Mitchell are you pursuing?
Phil, No, I'm sorry, but no Mitchell's are listed. Do you have any other surnames I could try looking for that married into Mitchell family? I recently discovered in the 1910 census two people listed living in the home of my grandparents, Robert R. Wright and Henrietta Gibson Wright. Nephew: William Anderson age 18 born in Virginia Niece: Margaret Morsden age 15 born in Virginia. Both names are not familiar to living family members and I could not find them in any other listings. My hope is someone on list will have some info on these two that will get me started. Robert R and Henrietta lived near Mechanicsville just past Barr's Store.
Hi Lynn: Don't think these are mine (or from John Lewis Jr.)..Maybe from David Lewis a long way back...Incidently on the Valentine Papers..Call it sychronicity or what....I believe this John Lewis is a descendent of the (originial) John Lewis of Henrico Cty...his sons (John et al) moved to Spottsylvania and begat like crazy there...I worked a project with a gal three years ago, so I will send this material off to her for her data file. What is it they say..."No good deed goes unpunished"? Seems I have immeshed myself in so many Lewis families for so long that after while they automatically fall into slots....Just wish it were that easy on my John Jr family....With the men it's harder because THEY ALL HAVE THE SAME BLASTED FIRST NAME!!!! Thanks again my friend, I really appreciate ALL your help! Does anyone know the location for the grave of William "Grancer" (Grand Sir) Mullins, born about 1695 in King William Co., VA and died 9.2.1735 in St. Martin's Parish, Hanover Co., VA? I would appreciate any information on his grave site or the location of his land. Thanks in advance.... Judith http://www.southernroots.com
My apologies, but I can't remember who I was emailing with that wanted pictures of Temperance Overton Harris' gravesite and the others there. If you will email me again, I will be happy to send them. Judith http://www.southernroots.com
