    3. Subject: Alexander Clark, son of Benjamin Clark Resent-From: NCWAKE-L@rootsweb.com Date: Thu, 8 Feb 2001 21:26:28 EST From: CMW12635@aol.com To: NCWAKE-L@rootsweb.com It appears then that there were two Benjamin Clarks, the one b. abt 1758 who was in Granville Co. and Wake Co., NC.. Charles Sothoron Clark b. abt 1742 and Leonard Clark b. abt 1749,, both of St. Mary's Co., Md. who both appear in Wake and Granville co., NC records, didn't have a brother Benjamin but did have an uncle who might have migrated to the area abt.. the same time. The uncle Benjamin, was born abt. 1721, so this Benjamin probably isn't the Benjamin Clark of Granville Co and Wake Co., NC who was the father of Alexander. Clark. I am sure they are connected, possibly a son? The other Benjamin Clark of Haywood Co., NC and from "Danville, Va" on is probably also connected but how I don't know. We talk about naming patterns, well this Benjamin had a son by the name of Alfred I Clark. My ancestor, Leonard Clark, a son of the Leonard Clark listed above also named a son, Alfred Clark. This name was passed down into the following generation in my family as was the name Alfred in the Benjamin Clark of Haywood Co., NC line. Your thoughts? Help? There was a Benjamin Clark enumerated on the 1785 Granville Co., NC List.and I suggest that this is the same Benjamin. Does anyone know anything more about this Benjamin? How old was he? About what year was he born? Alexander, his son, was born abt. 1778. There was either the same or another Benjamin Clark who was "from Pittsylvania Co., VA, who was born abt. 1760. He had two sons, Benjamin and Riehard. He migrated to Haywood Co., NC. By any chance are we talking about the same Benjamin? >> I am a descendant of Benjamin Clark of Haywood Co., NC (mentioned in the paragraph quoted above. I have a deed record which lists his heirs and he did not have a son, Alexander Clark. By the way, he had more than two sons, as indicated by the previously mentioned deed record. C.
